Dear Sapphires,
As you know, I am not sending out new spellings this week as groups are going to be swapped around next week. So please continue learning last week's spellings. Please ensure that you practise your tables and read, daily. Your Maths Game this week is a game on the following website (please use the link): http://www.topmarks.co.uk/maths-games/7-11-years/fractions-and-decimals You can play any game on here but the one which will be the most usual (and will match what we are learning in class) is 'Fraction Matcher' so you could start with this. Happy learning! Hi Sapphires,
I hope you are having a lovely half term. Please could you collect pictures of flowers for Monday when we will create a montage in preparation for working with the artist on Tuesday. It is values' Week and we will be working with the artist to create a table cloth for our worship table. You can bring in photographs of flowers, pictures of flowers from leaflets or draw some pictures of flowers (and colour them and bring them in. Enjoy the weekend. Mrs Blakeman Dear all Sapphires,
I am sorry that I have not put home learning on here until today. I have had lots of meetings after school all week and have been out of routine so have not managed it until now! You can complete any spelling activity of your choice over the next few days (or over half term). Please continue to practise this week's spellings and times tables all over the holidays and find a really good book to read which you cannot put down! Please play a Maths Game too. Here are your spellings for this week. If you want a great big division challenge, try Maria B's multi-step division and multiplication problem!
A library has 25 books which were for sale and 402 books which weren't for sale. They wanted to sort all of the books into sections. They wanted 66 sections. How many books would there be in each section if they were sorted? Well done, all of you, for doing so well in your division today! What superstars you all are!
If you understand how to use 'chunking' for long division, why not have a go at these! 1. 78 ÷ 15 2. 97 ÷ 13 3. 108 ÷ 18 4. 215 ÷ 25 5. 523 ÷ 34 Hi Sapphires,
Well done for persevering with short division in the lesson today! You're nearly there! To help you, I am putting some calculations on here. Have a go at these calculations for practice at home, if you can. I am also adding the RTs to the blog to instruct you through what you need to do! 1. 67 ÷ 4 2. 84 ÷ 9 3. 72 ÷ 5 4. 55 ÷ 3 5. 167 ÷ 8 6. 762 ÷ 7 Hi Sapphires,
Here is this week's home learning. Please ensure that you complete a Maths Game from your pack and complete the spelling activities; for Mrs Dyson's group: Scrambled Words; for the other groups, write your words in sentences to show that you understand what they mean as they are homophones. Make sure that you read, practise spellings and practise your tables daily. You really need your multiplication tables for the next couple of weeks because we are doing division in class! Hi Sapphires,
Here is your home learning for this week. Please ensure that you play a Maths Game from your pack, practise tables and spellings daily and read at least 5 times (for enjoyment). Your spelling activity (everyone except my spelling group) is to do Spell-er-cise. Enjoy your day off tomorrow! Try to watch or listen to some of the election coverage ready for Sapphire's election day on Friday! Who will be Sapphire's Prime Minister? Who has a really strong manifesto? Who has Sapphire's best interest at heart? We will find our on Friday when ballot papers are posted and votes are counted! Happy Thursday! Love from, Mrs Blakeman |
