During Healthy Schools' Week, we started making leaflets to promote healthy eating. Today we finished these leaflets. We now know much more about healthy living (not just eating) and about how to advertise and promote. The children had to compete against one another to create the most effective and informative leaflet. The winning leaflet will be sent home to all children in Sapphire Class.

Dear Sapphires,
Please remember your swimming kits tomorrow. Thank you, Mrs Blakeman A big congratulations to Maria B. who joined the pool party and pizza feast today as she earned her 150 (gold) merit certificate! Well done, Maria. I hope you enjoyed your reward! :-)
Well done Year 6s and Mrs Archard for producing, directing and acting out an amazing play! It was thoroughly enjoyable and they did themselves proud!
Today myself, Mrs Challoner and Mrs Davis went to The City Hall to see The Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra, who were amazing! We also got to participate and join in body percussion and sing Motion and Commotion! What a talented bunch of people the orchestra are and the children in Wiltshire!
Below is the first draft of our class song which we wrote today (I have put the ideas of each group together with some adaptations). Children, please could you ask parents, grandparents etc, if they can help us to improve this further, especially if they are musical. Many thanks. This week I will not be sending home any spelling activities or times tables activities but would still like you to learn your times tables and, as I will be sending home the Year 3/4 spelling list (for Year 3 children) and the 5/6 spelling list for Year 5, I would like you to get a head start in learning these as you need to know all of them by the end of Year 4 and at least half of the 5/6 ones by the end of Year 5. They are tricky too! If you start learning them now, you will be at an advantage next year. Hi Sapphires. Just to let you know that you will need your swimming lits on Monday as our day has changed next week. Have a lovely weekend. See on Monday for class swap day when you will meet your 'new teacher' and 'new TA'! Ha!
Love from Mrs Blakeman Yesterday we went to Waitrose and had a great time making butternut squash samosas in addition to a tour around the store!
What a day indeed! Everything seemed great this morning... our recorder concert was brilliant; we have such wonderful musicians in our class! Mrs Shakespeare is inspirational and I want to say a huge thank you to her for the great job she did with teaching you all how to play the recorder! But then...the children turned into aliens (at least I think that's what happened as I've never seen blue tongued, red toothed children before)! However, once they brushed their teeth again, they turned back into lovely Sapphires! Phew! What a relief!
