Today we continued with solving Maths word problems involving addition and subtraction. The children had to add items bought from a 'Snow Shop' and then subtract this total amount from the money stated in the problem. An example question:
If I buy my cousin a snowboard, a pair of socks, a pair of gloves and a hat, how much change will I get from £100? Hi all,
Here is your home learning this week. As we discussed in class, you can choose a spelling activity this week. I am putting suggestions on here but you can do anything at all as long as you practise your spellings in a fun way! Maths home learning will be to choose a game from your pack and practise your tables daily. Make sure that you read for 20 minutes daily too and that you practise spellings daily. Why not get an adult or older sibling to test you daily too? Then, all you really have to do is practise the ones you regularly get wrong! Mrs Dyson was not in school today so I will update her group's column tomorrow. Hi Sapphires,
Here is your home learning for this week. Please can you play a Maths game from your pack but do remember to practise your tables daily too. Spellings MUST also be learned and practised at home every day. Hi all, Here are the rules for each of your new Maths games. I think they were included with your packs but thought I would put them on here too just in case you lost the instructions! Spelling Activity Maths Games
You should be getting a Maths pack this week, which will contain lots of games for this term's learning. Meanwhile, please play a times tables' game e.g. Flip-Up, Fishy, Fishy Fingers. Please learn your times tables daily. Where might you find examples of levers, pulleys or gears, in or around your home?
When watching the TV, where might you find Roman Numerals?
It was lovely seeing you all again today after the holidays, looking refreshed and ready for more learning! I really enjoyed hearing about favourite memories of Christmas!
Home Learning W.B. 05.01.15 Home learning this week: Please practise your tables. As you all know, Mrs Challoner is currently undertaking the huge task of making up more Maths Games so that you have a different variety for Terms 3 & 4. Please bear with her whilst she does this. It really is a mammoth task! Meanwhile, practise tables using any of last Term's games, e.g. Fishy, Fishy Fingers, Flip-UP (using your new cards), multiplication.com... |
