Hi all,
Here is you home learning for this week. As half term begins this week, it might be a good idea to get all of your home learning completed by next Monday so that you can have the rest of the week off! Although, please don't forget your times tables and spellings. To make it easier for parents and guardians, I am putting a label in home learning books to sign if you have read 5 times or more. Children - you can still record your own reading in your reading records. Sapphire Class have worked really hard on completing the final drafts of their explanation texts but... as we hope you can tell, this has been very worth while! The finished pieces are amazing! I am very proud of my hard working Sapphires! Good colouring (although a bit a of a chore - at times) in 'one direction' really helps to make these extraordinarily good! Very well done, all of you. Those of you who have not finished, please take them home tonight and complete. As soon as you have done this, I will post yours on the blog too!
We were very lucky today as we had a vist from Debi Evans - author of The Secret Society of Dragons' series and Rolo Time Traveller books.
If you would like a signed copy of one of her books, it is not too late. I have some in my classroom. They cost £6.00 each. Remember - if you buy one of the dragon series, you will get a piece of dragon ore and may even find a hidden dragon! This week my group are learning about the 'double consonant when adding ed' rule and Mrs Dyson's group are learning about words with silent letters. Mrs Challoner's group have individual spellings according to their needs. This week's home learning. Please remember - home learning is now set on Mondays and is due in on the following Monday. Today we did some extended writing (when the children have to demonstrate the writing skills they have learned through writing independently for 30 minutes or more). I haven't yet marked the writing but know that the children worked very hard and put lots of effort into producing their best piece ever!
I would like to share two pieces with you. These boys haven't always loved writing but have made amazing progress lately and are now really enjoying it much more! |
