We were finishing our drawings for Spirited Arts which is when you are thinking about and describing feelings. Today's blog is written by: Lacey Chant.
Today we have done so much! This isn't unusual as we are always very busy but today... let me explain.
We started the day by attempting to complete our 'Tuesday' stories - almost achieved. After our recorders' session (great fun as always), we did some learning based around the World Cup. We are finding out about the teams and where they come (continents) and finding mean averages to rank them by groups and by continent using FIFA rankings of previous results. I think I am learning as much as the children - I'm not a natural Football fan! Sapphire Class are trying to win me round though... and I have to say are succeeding! (I've yet to watch a match though - that's your next challenge, Sapphires!) Please could you ensure that swimming kits are in school Wednesday and Thursday this week as, due to the continuing lovely weather, we are having an extra swimming lesson on Thursday this week (I apologise for the close proximity of lessons but it is the only slot available - I must try to book our slot first next week!)
These are the books we have spent weeks planning and writing. It has all been worth it! They are amazing. They have been inspired by the picture book created by David Wiesner of the same name 'Tuesday'. In school we have been typing up our stories (which are amazing, by the way). If any parents want to come and read them, please feel free to do so! Some children, like myself, are just typing with one finger on each hand which means we are not typing as fast as we could. If you want to improve your skills, in a really fun way, use the following link to a BBC website with instructions from a very friendly goat! http://www.bbc.co.uk/schools/typing/levels/level1.shtml This is us typing up our stories. We enjoyed our time doing this. It was relaxing listening to Mozart whilst we typed!
Here is our class photo especially for all of those 'Sapphire Dads' out there. Have a lovely day on Sunday and I hope you get well and truly spoilt by your children. Home Learning - W.B. 16th JuneSpelling Activity - Connect the Dots Write your spelling words in dots. Then connect the dots by tracing over them with a coloured pencils.
