This week, for your spelling activity, I would like you to do 'Graffiti Writing'. You can do any other activity of your choosing if you do not want to do this one but you MUST do a spelling activity in addition to practising your spellings (using LSCWC method), daily.
Please choose a Maths game, from your pack, and play it at least once. Also make sure that you practise your tables for at least 5 minutes each day - especially your target table (where you are on the ladder) but all of your tables. Use games on www.multiplication.com to support if necessary or play games such as Flip-Up or Fishy Fingers. Please read for at least 20 minutes at least 5 times this week and ensure that your book is signed. Remember - ALL home learning is set to support your learning in class! Hi Sapphires,
As discussed in class, please could you practise drawing your animal for your cave paintings which we will finish next week. Try to sketch your animal and get proportions right - avoid having overly large heads, legs .. I am adding an example of a cave painting on this page but you could find more in books or on the Internet (think Internet safety). Hi all,
Thank you to everyone for a really successful World Book Day! Children took part in a Book Quiz first thing this morning; wore amazing book character costumes, guessed whos 'Shefie' was whos; shared comic strips and some children even came back for bedtime stories! A very enjoyable day! Have a lovely long weekend. See you on Monday. Mrs Blakeman As discussed in our Maths lesson today, I am adding a link to an online battleship game (to help with our current topic - coordinates) and instructions for how to play Battleships on paper with a partner. http://www.primarygames.com/puzzles/strategy/battleship/ Here is the link for the video clip 'Partly Cloudy' which we have been watching in class in preparation for writing our own fantasy stories.
Please watch it again. It never gets boring (in my opinion). I have watched it at least 6 times now and still love it! The more you know it, the easier the learning in class will be! https://www.literacyshed.com/partly-cloudy.html Hi Sapphires,
Here is your home learning for this week. For your spelling activity you could play bingo; divide a piece of A4 paper into 6 sections and write out 6 of your spellings in each section. Ask at least one other person to do the same and have a 'bingo caller' to call out spelling words. If one of your spellings is read out (and you have spelt it correctly), you can cross it out. First person to get a 'full house' wins. If you'd rather play another spelling game, that is fine as long as you bring in evidence (e.g. a parent's signature) that you have completed it. For Maths' home learning, practise tables daily and play a game from your Maths' pack. |
